Recent Happenings

I hope everyone had a blessed Thanksgiving. We traveled to Glenwood on Wednesday to visit family and enjoy some good cooking. Of course, Shawn got some quality hunting time in as well. On Friday afternoon we traveled to Fairfield Bay to my brother's lake home for our family Thanksgiving. It was a very relaxing time. No schedule...just whatever...whenever. My older brother and his family didn't get to join us this year and we really missed their company. Busy schedules sometimes keeps us from getting together as often as we'd like. Hopefully we'll have everyone together for Christmas!

Overall, our Thanksgiving weekend was a great time. There was plenty of time to reflect on all that I'm thankful for. We often take for granted the little things in life. I'm especially thankful for Jesus Christ, family, and good health.

Thanksgiving is the start to a busy time of year. The Christmas season is upon us. A lot of goings on this time of year. We've got to decorate, finish shopping, attend work parties, school parties, church parties, musicals, and whatever else might be thrown our way. In the hustle and bustle, let us not forget the real "Reason For the Season"...the birth of Jesus Christ.

October Pictures

Here are some pictures that I didn't get posted on the last update. Several of us went Trick-or-Treating. We had a brother/sister combo of Mickey & Minnie Mouse, a brother combo of G.I. Joe & a Rootin Tootin Cowboy, and a sister combo of Little Red Riding Hood & a Pirate Beauty.

As you can tell, Hannah's face was almost completely healed up just a few days after her accident.

Hannah also participated in "Cheerleader for a Night" with her cousin's cheer squad. She loved it! I was so glad she was able to attend. The clinic to learn the cheers and the dance was the Saturday prior to her accident. At half-time of the final home game they showed off what they had learned. Tell you the truth...I think she's a natural.

Busy, Busy, Busy...

Sorry it's been so long since I've posted anything. We've been running crazy around here. I don't have any new pictures to post this time.

Since my last post...My oldest daughter attended her first quiz meet. She is on our Church Bible quiz team this year and is really enjoying it. It's amazing how much they learn in such a short period of time. We have 10 on the Red Level team and 2 on the Blue Level team. All the kids did a wonderful job!

Last weekend we had our Sunday School class and their families out to our place for a Weenie Roast and Hayride. The weather was just perfect. It was chilly but lots of fun! We ended up having about 70 attend. All the kids acted like they enjoyed the hayride.

This past Monday evening was quite eventful! It started with a simple 4-wheeler ride around our road but turned into a trip to the ER for my oldest girl. A great friend of ours came out to ride her boys and our girls on the 4-wheeler. They decided to take a trip around the road we live on. It makes a huge loop. Well, about 1/2 way around a mean dog starts to try to attack them and to make a long story short...she falls off the back of the ATV in an attempt to turn to see what the dog was doing. Only because of the prayers of our friend and the grace of God, the dog turned and left them alone. She suffered some cuts but mostly road rash. No broken bones and no head injuries. She was wearing a helmet...thank the Lord. (Although it came off on impact) God was definately in control of the entire situation! Thank You Jesus!

Well, I should wrap it up for now. We're looking forward to company this weekend. My husband's sister and her family are coming to our home for the first time since we've moved. They have a little girl who is 2 yrs. old and so my girls are excited!

Hope you have a great weekend!

A New Addition

Well, it's official. Our family will receive a new addition around the end of April to the beginning of May. My official due date is 5/12/07. The girls are really excited! Actually, we all are. Only time will tell if we'll actually have a "Peat" this time. LOL! We don't care boy or girl...as long as he/she is healthy!

Finally...an update!

Wow, time does fly! I haven't published a new blog in almost a month. That pretty much shows me that my life is way too busy. Sorry I don't have any new pictures to share with this blog. Let's see...what have we been doing the past month. Well, we've been to visit family in Southwest Arkansas and most recently a visit to a local Pumpkin Patch. I'll try to get a couple of pictures from the Pumpkin Patch to post. We used my mom's camera so I haven't had the opportunity to download the pictures on my computer. Other than those two events it's been work, school, church, and chores around our house. Until the next blog...have a great week!

A Restful Weekend!

This weekend was a very restful weekend. We finished our chores (inside & out) on Friday night and Saturday morning so we could enjoy the rest of the weekend. The girls enjoyed the cooler weather outside.

Well, the Hogs didn't win their season opener against USC but the outcome was a little better this year!

Sunday evening some friends came out and we threw together a last minute camp out in our back pasture, campfire and all. The kids loved it! We had three adults and six kids camp out. The weather was perfect! The next morning we had biscuits and gravy around the fire. Later on the adults played some horseshoes while the kids fished, rode 4-wheelers, and whatever else they could find to do! I can't believe I didn't get some pictures of the event.

Well, it's back to school and work tomorrow. But, we do only have a four day work week ahead of us. Hope everyone has a great Tuesday!

A Taste of Fall...

I hope tomorrow, September 1st, marks the end of Summer and the beginning of Fall. We've had some Fall like temperatures this week and it's sure been nice! I'm sure we'll return to the hot dry Arkansas weather soon enough. It's hard to believe it's the end of August already. School is in it's second week and the pages on the calendar are flying off.

Football season is upon us. Can you say..."WOO PIG SOOIE, RAZORBACKS"!

Speaking of football, we've got to get back in the swing of attending local football games this year. My niece made the cheerleading squad for her school. Her first game is tonight. It's been about 6 yrs. since my nephew played football and we followed him every Friday night. Those always make for fun times.

Well, hope everyone has a great Labor Day weekend!

Our Pets...

I guess I should introduce our pets to you. "Copper" is the bassett hound and "Lady" is the German Shepherd. Copper is almost 6 mo. old. We're not sure of Lady's age but I would guess she's probably about the same age as Copper.

We gained a Tom Cat (Sammy) on Saturday but we've not seen him since we brought him home. My husband carried Sammy home in a box that had to be taped shut part of the way because he kept trying to get out. When we got home he thought he'd let the cat out in the barn so maybe it wouldn't be so scared...but he was out of the box and out of the barn in a flash! I did see Sammy later in the evening in a patch of trees behind the house so I took some food out to him. But we've not seen him at all today. Hopefully Sammy will return to the barn at night to eat. I think someone's trying to tell us something. Because we've not had the best of luck lately with pets.

Well, it's back to work and school on Monday. Hopefully the week will fly by and we can enjoy an extended weekend with Labor Day approaching. Hope everyone has a great Monday!

My big 4 yr. old!

My baby turned 4 years old on Wednesday, Aug. 23rd. We celebrated her birthday tonight with family & friends at a party for her at Sonshine. They were able to play on all the gymnastic equipment and other games. We had a great time! Here is a picture of her at the party.

My older baby started 2nd grade at WES on 8/21/06. She is adjusting to a new school and making lots of new friends. Glad to have the first week behind us! We're all looking forward to the weekend!

Up & Blogging!

This blog thing is new for me so we'll see how it goes. I love to read blogs of other people I know so I hope you enjoy reading mine. This is a recent picture of my family on vacation in Ft. Morgan, AL. We went with two couples from church and their children. There was also three other couples there too that we knew (and their children). All the kids played together literally from daylight to dark! We had a wonderful time with our friends!

I'll try to write more on future posts. That's it for now!
