1st Haircut!

Hunter had to have his 1st haircut a little early! I wanted him to be all handsome for Easter so his Nina gave him a haircut on March 15th. I know...I'm a little late on posting this. The top picture was before we started...shaggy boy! By the end he was so DONE! It's funny how a little haircut can make you look so much older. We had our Church Easter Egg hunt later that morning and he got several comments about his "new do". I was even able to bag a little to put in his baby book. Thanks Nina!

Spring Break Fun

This week was spring break for our kids. Work has been a little crazy lately for me so Dad got to spend the week with them. They even got to go to Glenwood and visit their Mimi & Papaw. My camera batteries went dead so not many pictures were captured. Both girls learned to drive Papaw's tractor! I believe that Haleigh has a little "redneck" blood in her as you can see she's driving the tractor with no shoes on! Hunter even got a little tractor action. They caught up on some visiting while in town...got to spend some time with great-grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins. Even a fishing trip to my aunt's pond was worked into the short two day schedule. The fish weren't biting that well, though. All in all they had a great time and had lots of stories to tell me when they returned. I was able to spend Thursday and Friday with them. We worked on our garden, played webkinz, and watched some movies! It will be hard to get back into the swing of things for the kids. Especially with softball getting into full swing this next week! Hopefully I'll get my camera batteries charged and have some softball pictures to share next week.

Happy Easter!

I'm a little late with my Easter post! We had a wonderful Easter Sunday lunch at mom's. Her cooking is always great. We didn't get to have the full crew at mom's but we had a good time anyway. We missed Unkie Orlie (Aunt Lori...my kids renamed her) and hope she's feeling better. Michael & his family were at home in TN with his wife's family for Easter. Rustin and his family also had other family gatherings to attend. It's so hard to get everyone together on holidays but sometimes we accomplish it.
The girls love hiding and hunting eggs! Hunter could have cared less for the eggs. He enjoyed slinging the bucket but didn't care for the grass in it. The night before we colored eggs at home...the girls always enjoy that! Hunter couldn't last for the egg coloring. Maybe next year.
Easter is such a fun time with the kids but you know the best thing about it...it's when our older daughter tells her little sister (in the midst of all "extra" stuff that goes along with Easter) "that the real reason we celebrate Easter is the death and resurrection of our Lord and Saviour...Jesus Christ"! It touched my heart. If you don't have them or have never seen them...you've got to purchase the Resurrection Eggs to share with your kids at Easter. Most christian book stores carry them. It's a wonderful tool to tell the Easter story to your kids. Our kids LOVE them!

Snow Day!

Never give up...words my parents used to tell me. Well, I had almost given up on any winter weather this year but we finally got the snow we'd been waiting for...and school was cancelled! The kids were up at 5:30 am (thanks to their daddy) to see the falling snow. They were ready, right then, to head out and brave the elements. I managed to hold them off a couple of hours. We ended up with about three inches of the white stuff. It was absolutely beautiful! Later in the morning we headed to the "Hill" to put our sleds to good use (as well as a few boogie boards). The kids had a great time. This was Hunter's first snow and he really didn't know what to think. He wasn't out in it much b/c he's been under the weather lately. We had to get a few pictures though. It was fun while it lasted...which was not long. The snow was gone almost as fast as it came. But hey...it was snow...and we played!
