We Are the ANGELS, The Mighty, Mighty ANGELS...Ooo~Ahhh...Ooo~Ahhh

I was finally able to capture Hannah playing softball. It's not her first game but at least I got it! Yes, she's an Angel! This is her second year on the team and she is really doing well this year. The team is more competitive this year. Last year was the teams first year in the league and they really struggled. So many of them were new to the sport but this year they look like a totally different team. All of our losses have been close ones. We've even won a couple early on...I think it was the end of the season last year before we got a WIN. Go Hannah...we're proud of you!

Camera is broken!

I used my camera last Monday night to capture Haleigh's first softball game and loaded the pictures onto my pc. Well, I put the camera back in its case and right back into the van. (I like to keep it with me b/c you never know when you might need it) So, I pull it out the other night to capture pictures of Hannah's first ballgame and it's broken!!! It's like the LCD screen shattered internally. Almost like it endured extreme hot then extreme cold...weird! Frustrating to say the least. So...I won't be posting any pictures until I can get a new camera.

We've had a crazy week! By Sunday, we will have played 5 regular scheduled softball games (between both girls), completed Benchmark exams, quizzed in the District quiz meet, played at least two games in a tournament in GB - Haleigh, played at least two games in a tournament at Guy - Hannah, and attended Disney's High School Musical on Ice. Whew! I get tired just thinking about it.

Hannah is going to Regional Bible Quiz Meet this year! She quizzed tonight since we had a softball tournament conflict with the District meet on Saturday. She did awesome! We're so proud of her. The level she's in (Red Level) only had to learn 15 memory verses but she learned all 20 like the next level (Blue Level - 4th, 5th, 6th graders). They also had 20 lessons from Genesis with 10 questions per lesson they had to learn. Then at the quiz meets they pick 30 questions total to ask. I know she might not remember the lessons but the Bible verses will be with her for years to come.

Hunter update...we're about to have a little walker. It's just two weeks away from his big birthday. WOW how time flies! It's driving me crazy not having a camera. I'm afraid he's going to take his first steps and not have a camera to catch it. Hopefully that will be resolved soon.

First ballgame!

Haleigh plays 6U Coach-Pitch softball and had her first ballgame on Monday night. She was so excited and they played a really great game. Last year our team struggled but this year they look like a totally different group of girls. We had a few that quit but most of the team returned this year and we picked up a few new teammates. As you can see Haleigh loved showing out for the camera. In one picture you'll see the ball (yellow) coming at her and she actually connected with it for a double. Then the next batter up hit her in for a "home run" as she calls it. It was a great game and we won 10-5. Way to go SHOCKERS!
Hannah has had a couple of rain outs so I'll post her first game as soon as she gets to have one!

Rockin' for Backpacks!

Sunday night several kids from our First Kid's Ministry held a Rock-a-Thon to raise money to purchase backpacks to send to the children who live at a city dump in Honduras. We enjoyed a lot of yummy snacks and sweets. The kids acted like they had a great time rockin' and raisin' money! Our goal was to be able to purchase 200 backpacks and I think we'll have no problem hitting our target. Way to go kids! Thanks to all that helped my children to help the kids in Honduras.

A special presentation...

Haleigh was recently picked to be Student of the Month in her classroom. Here are a couple of pictures from the awards assembly in which she was honored. The first picture is Haleigh and her teacher. She was so excited! I bet you can't tell by her smile. I'm proud of you baby girl!
